The Bedford Borough Bowling Club has been an active part of Bedford sporting activity
for almost one hundred years’ indeed it will be celebrating its centenary in 2011.
The Club provides for outdoor and indoor bowling. The main outdoor green normally accommodates
six rinks, but when the occasion arises, is able to house seven.
There are two other outdoor rinks, which were part of the original outdoor bowls set – up,
and are used to the present day. The indoor area accommodates six rinks.

The club has a pleasant ambience, and in accord with the towns population, is cosmopolitan
in its membership.
Membership of the club is open to the whole community, and all its facilities are
available to all members without discrimination. Vision impaired persons as well other
persons with physical disabilities are welcome. For example we run an active
Blind Players Section.
There are excellent vehicle parking facilities on the club premises. The standard of
cuisine provided by its long-term and most excellent caterers is of the highest order.

The Club is licensed for the sale of intoxicants, and the club and lounge area is of a very
pleasant and modern décor. Prices of drinks are continually monitored, and without exception
are more than competitive with outside venues.
The seating area around the outdoor greens affords excellent viewing of the bowling,
and although situated on the fringes of the town centre, affords a peaceful afternoon
or evening.
The Club participates in a variety of competitive bowling competitions, both indoor and outdoor.
